Guidelines for corporate blogs need to be simple, yet actionable. We've developed the following for our online printing company Mimeo.com:
1. Be interesting! Post under your own
name and in an informal human voice.
2. Be careful to avoid disclosing any
information that is confidential or proprietary to Mimeo or to any third party
that has disclosed information to us. For good measure, consult Mimeo’s
confidentiality policy and employee handbook for guidance about what constitutes
confidential information
3. Be respectful to the company, our
employees, our customers, our partners, and our
competitors
4. Do not to post any material that is
obscene, defamatory, profane, libelous, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful
or embarrassing to another person or company
5. Be understanding when the company
asks that topics not be discussed for confidentiality or legal compliance
reasons
6. Ensure that your blogging activity
does not interfere with your work
