One question that I'm frequently asked regards how to separate a Facebook personal page from business pages that you administer. The good news is that with recent changes to the Facebook interface, this procedure is easy to accomplish.
First, the issues arises because you must set up Facebook business pages through a linked personal account if you have one. Setting up a fake persona on Facebook is a violation of terms and introduced the risk of having your account deactivated.
Instead:
1. Sign into your personal facebook account.
2. Then go ahead and set up your business page by clicking here.
3. To separate your Facebook personal identify from your business, go to your personal home page. Click the small drop down arrow next to the word "Home" on the upper right and select "user facebook as page." Then select the identity you would like to use by clicking "switch" next to the business page that you would like to post to. Now whenever you post to the business page, it will not impact your personal page.
4. To post to personal pages, click the small drop down arrow on the upper right and select the first choice, which should be your personal page.
It's easy, fast and keeps your Facebook personal and business identities separate.
